The situation on the front: 138 combat engagements and thousands of shellings in a day

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released an update as of 22:00, January 3, 2025.

Throughout the day, 138 combat engagements and massive enemy attacks were recorded in different directions on the front.

• Pokrovsk direction: The hottest spot, where the occupiers made 34 attempts to breach the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Five engagements were repelled. Ukrainian military neutralized 304 occupiers, 140 of them irreversibly, and also destroyed a tank, an armored fighting vehicle, vehicles, and nine UAV control antennas.
• Kurakhove direction: The enemy attacked positions near Petropavlivka, Sribne, Kurakhove, and Shevchenko 11 times. Five battles are ongoing.
• Kharkiv direction: Two attacks were repelled in the Vovchansk area.
• Kupyansk direction: The enemy made six assaults, two attacks were repelled, and four are ongoing.
• Lyman direction: Russians attacked Ukrainian positions ten times. One battle is currently ongoing.
• Kramatorsk direction: Ten combat engagements were recorded, with two guided aerial bombs dropped on Sloviansk.
• Toretsk direction: The occupiers carried out seven attacks, with three engagements ongoing.
• Vremivka direction: Twelve assaults ended unsuccessfully for the enemy. Enemy GABs were dropped in the Zelene Pole area.
• Orikhiv and Prydniprovskyi directions: All attacks were repelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
• Kursk region: Ukrainian defenders repelled 30 attacks, with 11 engagements ongoing.

Additionally, the enemy carried out 45 airstrikes, launched 58 guided aerial bombs, and 847 kamikaze drones, and conducted around 4,000 artillery shellings.

Ukrainian defenders continue to heroically hold their positions, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.
