Zelenskyy suggested buying weapons from the US using frozen Russian assets

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that frozen Russian assets can be used to purchase weapons in the United States, to simultaneously develop the American military-industrial sector and help Ukrainian troops defend against Russian aggression.

Zelenskyy mentioned this in an interview with American podcast host Lex Fridman.

— Let’s take 300 billion of frozen Russian assets. We will use them. We will take the funds necessary for our internal production and purchase all the weapons in the USA. We do not need gifts from the USA. This will be beneficial for your industry, for the United States. We will invest funds there. Russian funds, not Ukrainian, not European, — Zelenskyy proposed.

In the president’s opinion, this could become one of the security guarantees for Ukraine.
