Three children were returned by Ukraine from temporarily occupied territories. This helped reunite a family.

This information was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, in Telegram.

According to Lubinets, the first two children are little boys. Their mother was forced to leave Ukraine due to the war, while her sons remained in the temporarily occupied territory in the Donetsk region.

The woman reached out to the Ombudsman’s Office for help, and assistance was provided — the children were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territories and reunited with their mother. The family is now safe.

As the ombudsman added, the third child is a 17-year-old boy who became a symbol of courage. He supported Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territories, for which he was persecuted by representatives of the occupying authorities. The boy was tortured and intimidated.

"Eventually, he contacted us and is now safe, receiving humanitarian and material support, as well as assistance in processing documents. He is looking forward to a new stage in life — studying in a free independent Ukraine," noted Lubinets.
