Keith Kellogg’s trip to Ukraine was canceled due to American laws prohibiting such contacts before the oath of the new president, as reported by the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

«According to our information, this is the only reason», — said Heorhiy Tykhyi at the briefing.

Ukraine continues to prepare for this visit.

«We really want to establish a dialogue with General Kellogg as soon as possible after the inauguration to discuss the most important issues of achieving comprehensive justice and sustainable peace», — added Tykhyi.

It should be noted that the visit was canceled quite unexpectedly, although it was openly prepared in advance, and the norms of American laws did not prevent it.

According to another version, Kellogg canceled the visit due to a series of statements by Zelenskyy about the conditions for ending the war in Ukraine, which do not align with Trump’s team’s position.

Another assumption is that Kellogg’s visit was not approved by the current Biden administration.
