"Armen Horlivskyi" will be tried in absentia

Law enforcement officers have submitted an indictment to the Zhovtnevyi District Court of the city of Dnipropetrovsk regarding a 46-year-old criminal authority, Armen Sarkisyan, known as "Armen Horlivskyi", and his two accomplices - 37-year-old Hennadiy Sydorenko and 31-year-old Serhiy Dub. They are charged with aiding the aggressor state (part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and collaboration activities (part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The data indicates: on January 6, 2025, an automated distribution of the proceedings took place, which will be heard by Judge Serhiy Melnychenko.

In early December last year, security forces publicly reported on the absentee announcement of suspicions to "Armen Horlivskyi" and his two subordinates (Dub and Sydorenko). Claims against Sarkisyan, who has been wanted in Ukraine since 2014, relate to his creation and further support of the so-called "ArBat" battalion in 2022, whose participants took part in combat actions against the Armed Forces of Ukraine first in the Toretsk, and later in the Kursk sectors of the front.

Soon after, the judges, in an absentee regime, selected preventive measures in the form of detention without the possibility of bail, and on December 9, a petition was satisfied for conducting a special pretrial investigation regarding them.

After the start of the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on Ukrainian territory, Armen Sarkisyan is considered a so-called "overseer" in the temporarily occupied territories of our state.

The absentee process in Dnipro is the second such case - in May 2023, an indictment in an isolated episode of "Maidan achievements" regarding "Armen Horlivskyi" and two other accomplices from the circle of the "vodka king" Oleksiy Chebotaryov - Viktor Zubrytskyi and Roman Shchynkin, was submitted for absentee consideration to the Shevchenko Palace of Justice in the capital.
