The reason for the expansion of the sea port in the occupied Mariupol has become known
In 2025, the Kremlin intends to expand the capacity of the seaport in Mariupol. Thus, the Russians aim to enhance the capabilities for exporting resources from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
This is reported by the National Resistance Center (NRC).
According to the resource’s data, by the end of the current year, the occupiers plan to construct 25 more hydraulic structures at the site, including additional berths for cargo ships and warehouses.
The "expansion" of the Mariupol port is linked to Russia’s desire to increase the export of agricultural products from captured Ukrainian territories. The occupiers also aim to finally export industrial equipment from the occupied regions to Russia and sell it to other "friendly" countries," noted the NRC.
In addition, the fake federal agency for maritime and river transport of the Russian occupation administration announced plans to increase the capacity of the Mariupol port to 4.8 million tons of grain.
