Russia has focused attention on four regions of Ukraine: the general revealed Putin’s plans

The escalation by Russia has already begun. It covers two directions that are the most prioritized for Russia’s dictator Vladimir Putin - the Ukrainian east and the Kursk region, said retired Lieutenant General, military expert Ihor Romanenko.

"In eastern Ukraine, enemy activity is increasing. The occupiers have effectively captured Kurakhove and are advancing further toward Dachne. However, the main goal for the Russians remains Pokrovsk. By defending Kurakhove, we have gained some time, but unfortunately, we currently do not have enough forces to stop the enemy’s advance. The situation is challenging," he emphasized in an interview with ТSN.

At the same time, the expert noted that not much of the Luhansk region remains under Ukrainian control. There’s an ongoing intense struggle for other regions targeted by the Russian dictator.

"I believe that for now, the enemy does not have enough forces for an offensive on Zaporizhzhya and Dnipro. Putin’s army has suffered significant losses. Of course, the enemy is conducting combat operations in these directions with small forces, but these are actions exclusively at the tactical level, as they lack the forces for a strategic offensive. However, plans for a possible offensive undoubtedly exist," Romanenko added.
