The Security Service of Ukraine announced the exposure of an FSB agent network
The Security Service of Ukraine announced the neutralization of an FSB agent network operating in Kyiv and the Kharkiv region. According to the SSU, the criminals spied on the locations of Ukrainian military forces and corrected Russian missile and drone strikes.
This was reported by the SSU on Saturday, January 18.
It is noted that the resident of the network, who worked as an engineer at the Kyiv metro municipal enterprise, was recruited back in 2015 during his stay in Moscow. The SSU cyber specialists identified his Russian handler.

"The recruited agent was put into ’standby mode’ and ’reactivated’ after the start of the full-scale war through a message in the messenger. He immediately received an order to create an agent network. The task of this group was to gather information about the locations and routes of movement of Ukrainian troops and their cargo, as well as to guide missile and drone strikes of the Rashists upon them," the report states.
According to law enforcement, the resident involved his acquaintances in the work for the Russian Federation—a Kharkiv native, who after mobilization left the military unit and had worked at Ukrzaliznytsia for 10 years, as well as a driver of international transports.

His task was to track the movement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s military convoys, and the driver’s—to pass off coordinates of checkpoints and units of Ukrainian forces as part of work trips. The organizer’s mother and brother were also involved in the agent activities, noted the SSU.
"The head of the agent group received the ’necessary’ geolocations from accomplices, summarized them, and passed ’reports’ to his Russian handler. According to the investigation, the resident personally guided missile strikes on Kyiv, which is confirmed by intercepted conversations," wrote law enforcers.

The SSU detained the network resident in Kyiv, and the deserter in Kharkiv. During searches, mobile phones with evidence of collaboration with the Russian Federation and firearms, which were handed over for examination, were seized.

Two detainees and two relatives of the organizer have been charged under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
-
Part 2 Article 28, Part 2 Article 111 (treason committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy during a martial law);
-
Part 1, 3 Article 436-2 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
