AMCU checks the legality of Yefimov’s purchase of the "Novohrodivska" mine in Donetsk region

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) has initiated proceedings regarding a potential violation of the economic competition protection legislation by former Member of Parliament Maksym Yefimov.

In 2024, Yefimov acquired over 50% of the shares in LLC "1-3 ’Novohrodivska Mine’" without the necessary AMCU approval. Such actions may be considered a violation of the economic competition protection legislation.

Maksym Yefimov is the main beneficiary of the energy company "Donbasenergo," which controls LLC "1-3 ’Novohrodivska Mine.’" The company holds a special permit for coal mining within the mine field in the Donetsk region.

The AMCU is reviewing possible violations of the legislation regarding the acquisition of control over an enterprise without the appropriate approval, which may affect competition in the coal mining market. The case is ongoing, and the AMCU has the right to apply sanctions if the violation of the legislation is confirmed.
