In the Zaporizhzhya region, witnesses are being sought for the shooting of civilian vehicles by Russians

Investigators of the National Police Headquarters of the Zaporizhzhya region are searching for witnesses to the shooting of two civilian vehicles by occupiers in the Berdyansk district in February 2022. As a result of enemy actions near the village of Derevetske, the driver and four passengers of one vehicle, as well as a passenger of another vehicle, were killed. 

This was reported by the Center for Investigative Journalism, citing the Telegram channel “War Crimes of the Russian Federation in the Zaporizhzhya Region”. 

On February 26, 2022, on the road between the villages of Chervone Pole and Derevetske in the Berdyansk district, Russian military personnel opened fire on a civilian vehicle with automatic weapons. As a result of the shooting, passenger Iryna Prokopchuk (born 06.02.1969) was killed on the spot.

On February 27, 2022, almost at the same location — near the village of Derevetske, the Russians stopped a vehicle “Lada Nyva” which belonged to Serhiy Tsybalov. There were five men in the vehicle — the oldest was 57 years old, the youngest was 20. 

After that, the vehicle was shot at almost point-blank range with weapons that have not yet been identified, and it caught fire.  Two men — Mykhaylo Toderych and Artem Tsybalov — died at the scene. Another, Serhiy Tsybalov, managed to get out of the car, but he was crushed by an "unknown tracked vehicle," likely a tank. The bodies of the remaining two — Ivan Voyna and Andriy Kiosov — were discovered in a field between the villages of Berdyanske and Chervone Pole in Berdyansk district with through gunshot wounds to the head.
