The Secretary of the Cherkasy City Council, leader of the regional branch of the "Batkivshchyna" party, Yuriy Trenkin leads a luxurious lifestyle while concealing his wealth.

The official’s wife, Mariya Trenkin, was spotted at an official event with a bag resembling a crocodile skin Hermes Birkin, which can cost 70 thousand euros. On her wrist, there seems to be a Rolex watch, worth several tens of thousands of dollars.

Access to Mariya Trenkin’s Instagram is restricted. However, from photos of her acquaintance, it is visible that the Cherkasy resident possesses more than one expensive accessory. This refers to another bag. The original costs several tens of thousands of euros. In another social media photo of Trenkin, a bag resembling another model from the same brand can be seen. Its price on specialized websites is also several tens of thousands of euros.

The vest in which the Secretary of the Cherkasy City Council receives an award for "charitable activities" from a priest may cost 700 euros. Approximately the same price for the Louis Vuitton sneakers that Trenkin is likely wearing. In the summer, a photo shows Yuriy Trenkin in what appears to be a Stefano Ricci t-shirt, the price of which without a discount is a thousand euros. With a discount, the item is half the price.

The Trenkin family uses two luxury cars, costing nearly two hundred thousand dollars – a BMW X7 SUV and a Mercedes S400 sedan. Officially, they are not owned by Trenkin: to buy them, one needs significantly higher earnings and still have money for other needs. Therefore, Vasyl Monastyretskyi – Yuriy Vasylovych’s driver, came to the rescue.

At the beginning of 2019, Trenkin’s driver bought the BMW, and after the start of the full-scale invasion, he also purchased the Mercedes.

The NAPC checked Trenkin’s declaration and found that his driver, Vasyl Monastyretskyi, had earned only 250 thousand hryvnias over several decades of working life.

In the summer of 2021, Yuriy Trenkin and Mariya got married. Their wedding is considered one of the most expensive in our region: dozens of contractors were involved, an entertainment complex was rented for several days, Gaitana performed, Yuliya Tymoshenko congratulated them, and the political and business elite was present. It is obvious that this celebration could not but impact the politician’s fortunes.

However, in Trenkin’s declaration for that year, there are no expenses mentioned for the wedding. In 2021, his “stash” was 190 thousand dollars, and in the declaration for the previous year – 180 thousand dollars. Trenkin earned slightly less than one million hryvnias or 40 thousand dollars at the then exchange rate. So, the city council secretary lived off this money for a year, paid for the lavish wedding, and added another 10 thousand to his savings. Or was it not the case? In the same year, Trenkin’s wife – Mariya Trenkin and, of course, her wealth appeared in his declaration. According to the declaration, the woman earned 700 thousand hryvnias of income in a year and had another 200 thousand dollars in savings. A successful businesswoman, she registered as an entrepreneur in 2018, a few years before getting married. According to tax service information, Maria declared several hundred thousand hryvnias a year before this. She was engaged in trade. After the marriage, Maria’s affairs dramatically improved, and she began earning five million hryvnias a year.

After the NAPC checked Trenkin’s 2021 declaration in the fall of 2024, he recalled that his wife earned not 700 thousand hryvnias in the wedding year, as he had stated earlier, but five million hryvnias. Why not 10 or 25 million? Similar earnings are not only reported by Mariya Trenkin but also by the wife of the mayor of Cherkasy, Anatoliy Bondarenko – Valeriya. The wife is not the only wealthy woman in Yuriy Vasylovych’s life. There is also his mother, who is also engaged in business. In the summer of 2024, Lyudmila Trenkin became the owner of an SUV which was added to the family car park accessible to the Trenkins. This Land Rover Discovery worth 60 thousand dollars can also sometimes be seen near the city hall.

Already in early December 2024, LLC "Auto-masterok," whose owner is Yuriy Trenkin’s mother – Lyudmyla Trenkin, purchased a 2024 BMW X7 SUV. This is the only vehicle owned by the company, which officially provides car repair and service services.

According to "18000," the new 2024 BMW X7 from the showroom is currently used by the city council secretary’s wife – Mariya Trenkin. To verify this, journalist Artur Chemyrys called the director of the "Auto-masterok" company. In the conversation, Vitaliy Horbivnenko confirmed that the car is allegedly rented and used by a woman, though he did not name her, limiting himself to saying that she is a hundred percent blonde.

Also, judging by announcements on car sales websites, in October 2024, Trenkin’s driver Vasyl Monastyretskyi sold a 2019 BMW X7 for more than 60 thousand dollars. Approximately two months after this, a company related to Trenkin’s mother purchased a new vehicle, the price of which may exceed 120 thousand dollars.

The city council secretary instead stated that the journalists’ investigation "should remain on their conscience." Trenkin supposedly appealed to the NAPC and the National Police.
