Head of State Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the National Security and Defence Council, during which a number of economic issues and the strengthening of sanctions were discussed.

This was reported by the President’s Office.

Initial attention was focused on supporting citizens and Ukrainian enterprises.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko reported on the implementation of state programs such as "eSupport," "eHousing," "Made in Ukraine," "National Cashback," as well as initiatives to support teachers and provide free meals for schoolchildren. Under the "eSupport" program, almost 13 billion UAH has already been paid to Ukrainian families who applied.

In addition, more than 5 million Ukrainians used the "National Cashback" program.

"We are working to expand all formats of support that are effective. And this will be done – I have given appropriate instructions to the government. Important: we are already ready for pension indexation in the spring, which will be from March 1," said the president.

The NSDC meeting focused on financial stability and discipline. Zelenskyy instructed to resolve the imbalance of imports and exports.

"We should create significantly more opportunities for production in Ukraine, for supporting all forms of economic activity in Ukraine. Just as we are already attracting foreign investment in weapons production, government officials should also work on other sectors," the president emphasized.

There was also a discussion on involving partners, particularly from Europe, to create safe conditions for economic activity – humanitarian demining, demining of agricultural lands, and air defense of Ukrainian cities.

Additionally, the head of the State Tax Service Ruslan Kravchenko and the head of the State Financial Monitoring Service Filip Pronin reported on financial integrity in the country.

Following the NSDC meeting, a decision was made on new sanctions.

"Decisions on sanctions were also made at the NSDC. Lists – soon. There will be several tough packages," summed up the president.
