MP Iryna Kormyshkina and her husband are accused of illicit enrichment.
The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) denied MP Iryna Kormyshkina permission to travel abroad for medical treatment. This was reported by journalist Oleh Novikov.
As noted, the MP’s lawyer petitioned for her temporary trip to Austria, but the court found the defense’s arguments insufficient.
The ruling stated that the defense did not provide adequate evidence that Kormyshkina could not receive the necessary treatment in Ukraine. As a result, the HACC rejected the motion and upheld the restrictions that prohibit the MP from leaving the country.
It should be reminded that earlier, NABU and SAPO announced suspicions of illicit enrichment against Ukrainian MP Iryna Kormyshkina. According to the investigation, in 2021-2022, she acquired assets worth over 20 million hryvnias. These were later used to purchase a house in Odesa region, where the MP currently resides. At the same time, her official income and savings for this period amounted to no more than 2.7 million hryvnias, which the suspect used for other purposes. The MP’s husband Yuriy Kormyshkin explained that she received 20 million hryvnias as an inheritance from her father.
Later, the SAP announced a new suspicion against Mykolaiv MP Kormyshkina for inaccurate declaration.
In addition, NABU issued two suspicions against Kormyshkin concerning the case of his wife, MP Iryna Kormyshkina. According to the investigation, Kormyshkin did not declare certain assets and improperly legalized funds gifted by his wife’s father.
On Monday, January 27, the High Anti-Corruption Court imposed a preventive measure for Mykolaiv businessman Yuriy Kormyshkin in the form of a 15 million hryvnia bail.
