Zelenskyy confirmed the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region

In an interview with Reuters, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this.

As the publication notes, the head of the Ukrainian state confirmed the start of the new offensive in the Kursk region on Thursday, February 6.

The President specified that the Ukrainian military managed to advance 2.5 kilometers into the region.

Rumors of the Ukrainian forces’ offensive

It should be recalled that the American Institute for the Study of War previously reported that Ukrainian defenders conducted a series of assaults in the Kursk region.

According to ISW, Ukrainian Defence Forces advanced as far as five kilometers.

It should be noted that the operation of Ukrainian warriors in the Kursk region began back in August of last year. Thanks to the element of surprise, they managed to take control of a large number of settlements, including the city of Sudzha.
