Over the past year, 100 million hryvnias were spent from the budget on the deputies’ vehicle fleet
Last year, around 100 million hryvnias were spent on maintaining the vehicle fleet for the People’s Deputies of Ukraine. However, the deputies themselves rarely use these vehicles and admit that such expenses are extremely inefficient.
In total, one People’s Deputy costs the state budget up to 2.7 million hryvnias per year if they use all the payments provided by the law. This includes not only the salary but also monthly "deputy" expenses without reporting, compensation for rent, payment for assistants’ work, as well as travel and transportation expenses.
For example, Maksym Buzhanskyi ("Servant of the People"), who owns two apartments and half a million dollars in cash, receives compensation for rent. Meanwhile, Serhiy Vlasenko ("Batkivshchyna") received a record 1.3 million hryvnias in 2023 as compensation for business trips, which amounts to one-tenth of the entire budget for deputies’ travel expenses.
Thus, even the minimum expenditures of the state on one parliamentarian amount to no less than 1.3 million hryvnias per year.
