Law enforcement officers exposed a judge from Dnipro who appropriated a rented apartment

The Security Service and SBI stopped a raider scheme to seize private real estate of citizens in Dnipro.

As a result of comprehensive measures in the frontline city, a district court judge has been exposed, suspected of illegally acquiring an apartment from a local resident.

According to the case materials, to implement the scheme, he first rented the accommodation in the center of Dnipro and did not pay for actual living for six months.

Moreover, under false pretenses, the judge did not allow the apartment’s owner, who tried to meet with him and find out the reasons for the absence of rental payment, to enter the apartment.

Then the official forged documents, "adding" that he allegedly purchased the property from the victim for 412,000 hryvnias.

After that, the defendant filed a civil lawsuit to recognize the contract as valid. Additionally, he "supported" it with a fake receipt from the apartment owner for the supposedly received money for the property sale.

The investigation found that the court rendered a default judgment, which satisfied the official’s claims and recognized his ownership rights to the respective property.

During searches at the judge’s places of residence and work, computers, mobile phones, rough notes, and work documents with evidence of the scheme were found.

Currently, law enforcement officers have notified the defendant of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

• Part 5 of Article 190 (fraud committed on a particularly large scale);
• Part 2 of Article 384 (misleading the court or other authorized body, committed for selfish motives).

An investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and return the property to its rightful owner. The perpetrator faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Comprehensive measures were carried out under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
