Lubinets: The occupiers shot Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Kursk direction

Russia continues to commit war crimes – killing Ukrainian prisoners of war. A video of another execution of Ukrainian soldiers by occupiers in the Kursk direction is spreading online.

This was reported by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets.

"A video of a possible brutal execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Kursk direction is spreading on social media. According to one of the Ukrainian soldiers, these are fighters of the 82nd Brigade. The footage shows a Russian invader deliberately shooting a Ukrainian prisoner of war in the head," Lubinets noted.

The Ombudsman emphasized that the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war is further evidence of the inhumane brutality of the Russian army. The video circulating on social media indicates the deliberate killing of defenseless Ukrainian POWs. This is a gross violation of the Geneva Convention and all norms of international humanitarian law.

"As the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, I have already reached out to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross. Russia must face the consequences of its war crimes immediately!" added Lubinets.
