President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine needs security guarantees from the United States, which should be reflected in an agreement.

He said this at a press conference.

"If you consider that an economic agreement is part of security guarantees, then why can’t there be your guarantees where the interests of your business are present. I made such a pass towards the United States. We have not discussed this with them yet, and have not received a response.

Therefore, I believe that the example of American companies that have already suffered at some point during this war indicates that Putin, if he desires, will not be stopped by anything in a renewed aggression. And this is not due to respect or disrespect for President Trump.

First of all, he is not forever, and we need peace for many, many years. It won’t be easier for us if, for example, Trump forced him to stop, and, for instance, there is no Russian offensive under Trump. How is it easier for us if it’s here in 10 years? We must think now. Let’s make it our problem, so we end the war and resolve all issues, rather than passing them on to the future," he said.
