In Pokrovsk, 6650 civilians remain, - journalist
As the journalist notes, the peak level of evacuation from Pokrovsk occurred in August - September 2024.
Journalist of TV channel "Orbita" and online publication "Svoi" Natalia Biryukova reported on "Espreso" that, according to official information, 6,650 civilians remain in Pokrovsk, although the number may be lower since there is no record of people leaving independently.
"According to official data, 6,650 civilians remain in Pokrovsk. They say that most of them have moved to the private sector. However, when the city was still operational and it was possible to keep official records of those who remained, statistics were collected on citizens who officially evacuated. Now the number of people who have left the city on their own is not being tracked. That is why, probably, there are now fewer civilians in Pokrovsk. The ’White Angels’ can no longer reach some parts of the city to carry out evacuations. Accordingly, there are places where people have to walk to evacuate," Biryukova noted.
As the journalist notes, the peak level of evacuation from Pokrovsk occurred in August - September 2024.
"Many civilians left last week. In particular, over 500 people. The peak level of evacuation from Pokrovsk occurred in August - September, when many people were leaving the city. If I’m not mistaken, there are a total of 8,100 civilians remaining in the Pokrovsk community," she added.
