Experts predict serious consequences due to the halt of weapon supplies from the USA

After Donald Trump halted the supply of American weapons to Ukraine, experts anticipate serious consequences for the frontline. According to Mark Cancian, senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the cessation of supplies could have a significant impact on the frontline situation for 2-4 months, especially under conditions of reduced weapon supply.

Cancian noted that this will impact Ukraine’s defense since alternative assistance from Europe cannot fully compensate for the halt in American supplies. Delays in the supply of such critical components as missiles for air defence systems, artillery ammunition, and HIMARS missiles could become particularly critical.

The halt in American supplies will also jeopardize reconnaissance, including crucial information about the preparation of missile strikes by Russia and the planning of Ukrainian strikes using drones. If the provision of satellite reconnaissance and other intelligence information stops, the situation for Ukraine will become significantly more complicated.

Experts believe that although an immediate collapse of the defense will not occur, serious problems will arise in a few months, which could lead to a decreased ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to hold the frontline and even to deep breakthroughs by Russian forces.

Former advisor to the Administration Oleksiy Arestovych warns that without American assistance, Ukraine will become "blind and clumsy." He emphasizes that without the necessary assistance, strategic operations, strike preparations, and reconnaissance will be significantly complicated, leading to serious losses.

Thus, in the event of a prolonged cessation of American supplies, Ukraine may face a much more challenging situation on the frontline, and its ability to maintain defense will be in great question.
