The USA proposed a complete ceasefire, Kyiv agreed, the decision is up to the Russian Federation, - Zelenskyy
The United States of America has proposed a 30-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. It should include not only missile and drone attacks but also fighting along the entire front line.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during an evening address.
"Ukraine accepts this proposal, we consider it a positive step, we are ready for such a step," Zelenskyy noted.
According to him, the key task for the USA will be persuading Russia to support this decision.
"We agree, and if ’the Russians’ agree, silence will come at that very moment," the president explained.
He also noted that Washington is ready to resume defense support for Ukraine, including the transfer of intelligence data.
The president emphasized that if the 30-day ceasefire is observed, Kyiv, together with its partners, will be able to prepare working documents that ensure lasting peace and security.
"Ukraine is ready for peace. Russia must also show its readiness to end the war or continue it. The time has come for the whole truth," he concluded.
