Fighting for the Pokrovsk direction: The AFU counterattack, the RF attempts to regain lost positions
The Russian army on the Pokrovsk direction continues attempting to counterattack after a failed offensive.
This was reported by military analyst Denys Popovych on the air of the FREEДОМ TV channel.
"On the Pokrovsk section of the front, we conducted a counterattack and managed to liberate several settlements. Now the Russians are trying to regain lost positions," the analyst noted.
Street fighting continues in the city of Toretsk, where Ukrainian defenders also managed to conduct successful counterattacks and regain lost positions.
"Street fighting is also taking place in the city of Chasiv Yar. The thing is, Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, and Kostyantynivka form a kind of triangle that is clearly in the focus of the Russian army. Hence, they will aim to capture Chasiv Yar and Toretsk to launch an offensive on Kostyantynivka, as a gateway to the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration. Obviously, we will continue to observe such developments," Popovych explained.
There is also an observed increase in the use of enemy armored vehicles in the eastern direction. The analyst associates this with attempts to regain lost positions and to increase the intensity of the battles.
