In "Khortytsia," it was reported about the situation in the east: returning to the previous state
The situation in the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops "Khortytsia" is returning to the state it was in two months ago.
This was reported by OSG representative Major Viktor Trehubov of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on "Suspilne" broadcast.
"Pokrovsk remains the most active. Although it’s not as intense now as it was in February, it still remains the most active direction. The Novopavlivka direction, urban combat in Toretsk, and Chasiv Yar also stand out with their activity. There’s a certain intensification in the Siversk and Lyman directions. There are also ongoing attempts by the Russians to expand their foothold on the right bank of the Oskil in the Kupyansk area," Trehubov said.
He noted that the fighting in the Kupyansk direction is "not very intense." However, the scale of the engagements in this area is larger, unlike in the Donetsk region, where the enemy conducts numerous attacks with small groups.
Trehubov also spoke about how the situation was stabilized in the Pokrovsk area.
"First of all, it’s thanks to the qualified work of the Ukrainian drone pilots and infantry (assault units). On the Russian side, the situation is similar, but ours performed better and managed to establish coordination. Additionally, some factors worked against the Russians, such as their stretched communications and scattered forces in an attempt to encircle the city," Trehubov added.
