The EU allocates 10 million euros for independent media in Ukraine
The European Union has prepared a support package for independent media in Ukraine amounting to 10 million euros.
This was noted by the EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Maternova, on Ukrainian Radio broadcast.
Since 2017, the European Union has been providing support to "Suspilne" as well as other independent media and media in conflict zones, with a total amount of over 100 million euros, Maternova explained. Since February 24, 2022, about 37 million euros have been allocated for media in Ukraine.
"Currently, there is a support package of 10 million euros for this year for independent media in Ukraine. Seven million of them will be provided through our partners. In May, the EU delegation will announce a competition for 3 million euros in two areas. One will focus on journalistic investigations, and the other on supporting local and regional media," noted the EU Ambassador to Ukraine.
