In the Kyiv City Council, they want the resignation of Secretary Bondarenko despite his suspension: signatures have been collected

The "Servant of the People" faction continued to collect signatures, and as of the end of March, they already have the votes of a third of the local government body for the dismissal of Volodymyr Bondarenko.

The "Servant of the People" faction in the Kyiv City Council has collected enough signatures to demand the resignation of the city council secretary Volodymyr Bondarenko. The deputies continued to gather them even after the secretary submitted a request for temporary suspension from the position. According to them, the request does not comply with the Regulations, therefore it has no legal force.

The conclusion of the signature collection was reported on the air of the project "Kashtan.Interview" by the head of the "SP" faction, head of the budgetary commission of the Kyiv City Council, Andriy Vitrenko. According to him, the request for temporary suspension, submitted on March 14 by Bondarenko and signed by Vitaliy Klychko, does not comply with the Regulations of the Kyiv City Council.

"In the city council regulations, in all laws — and we have thoroughly studied the issue — there are only appointments and dismissals. There is no situation with suspension. Only an investigative judge during a criminal investigation can suspend someone from their position," noted Andriy Vitrenko.

Furthermore, he says, the actual city mayor, to whom the request was submitted by Bondarenko, is not the appointing entity. It is the Kyiv City Council itself, so the mayor cannot suspend him. The document also states that the city council secretary is suspended from conducting and organizing meetings.

"That means he still goes to work, still signs documents, still oversees the drafting of resolutions for committees. Well, you can’t be half-pregnant: a person is either pregnant or not," Vitrenko noted.

The deputy emphasized that there are currently three options for resolving this situation: either Bondarenko himself writes a resignation statement from the position of the Kyiv City Council secretary, or the mayor Vitaliy Klychko submits this issue for consideration by the deputy corps. The third option is when one-third of the deputies demand the submission of this issue. In the last case, Klychko must bring this issue to a vote.

"The votes for signing this demand are already there," Vitrenko noted.

It should be noted that the main complaint against Bondarenko is his alleged involvement in land schemes initiated by the former "supervisor" of Kyiv, Denys Komarnytskyi. The secretary himself says that he is involved in the "Komarnytskyi case" as a witness. However, recordings from the office or mobile phone of the scheme’s organizer literally show Komarnytskyi giving instructions to Volodymyr Bondarenko to close the session, which undermines the trust in the current Kyiv City Council secretary.
