The Ministry of Defence proposed a draft law on demobilization, but the General Staff is against it, - MP

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has developed a draft law that provides for the rotation of servicemen and the possibility of their demobilization, but the General Staff of the Armed Forces opposes this draft law.

This was reported by MP Fediyenko.

The draft law provides for the rotation of servicemen who have participated in combat operations for 90 days, as well as the possibility of demobilization for those who have served at least 18 months out of 36. Demobilization should occur within a month after the serviceman submits a report.

The General Staff argues their position by stating that the adoption of the draft law will lead to a significant decrease in the staffing of combat units and will also require additional mobilization measures to replenish personnel. In the event the draft law is adopted, it will be necessary to ensure the presence of a sufficient number of military-trained resources in military units, which can only be achieved by accumulating such resources in Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRC).
