Russia is preparing a new offensive in the spring: the CCD has named the main directions and features

The Center for Countering Disinformation at the NSDC of Ukraine has officially confirmed that Russia is indeed preparing for a new stage of offensive actions this spring.

This was reported by the head of the Center, Andriy Kovalenko.

What is known about Russia’s plans

According to Kovalenko, Russian forces are preparing to intensify combat operations in several directions. The main strikes are expected in the Donetsk region, particularly in the Lyman, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove directions. At the same time, diversionary attacks in Zaporizhzhya, Kharkiv, and the border areas of the Sumy region cannot be ruled out.

Features of the offensive: equipment replaced by infantry

Kovalenko noted that the new phase of the offensive will predominantly be infantry-based. Due to significant losses in equipment and difficulties in repairing it, Russian forces are increasingly using ATVs, motorcycles, and ordinary vehicles for mobility. Pedestrian assault groups are also being actively used.

«The enemy’s equipment is quickly taken out by our drones, which has completely changed the nature of the war. In response, the invaders are adapting by using mobile and less noticeable means of transportation», — explained Kovalenko.

Context

Currently, the front line remains stable, but shelling and assault actions by the Russian Federation continue almost daily. Ukrainian Defence Forces are preparing for possible escalations and are strengthening defences in key directions.

The Center for Countering Disinformation urges citizens not to panic, to trust only official information, and to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
