Russian forces are attempting to break through in the Sumy region, - OTG "Siversk"

The Russian army maintains the intensity of attacks on the border communities of the Sumy, as well as Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions. Currently, there are no signs of the formation of a massive grouping, but the Ukrainian military is preparing for various possible scenarios.

This was reported by the spokesperson of the operational-tactical group "Siversk" Vadym Mysnyk to "Suspilne".

According to him, the Russian army is repositioning certain groups closer to the northern border with Ukraine. Mysnyk assured that Ukrainian forces are controlling the situation and are trying to strike deeper into the territory of the Russian Federation and destroy any equipment.

"We record the presence of Russian troops. This is hundreds of kilometers of the state border. Certain forces are being repositioned, but we do not currently see signs of the formation of a massive grouping. Using their transportation logistics, Russian military can transfer forces fairly quickly," said the spokesperson for the Siversk OTG.

He clarified that the level of training of Russian soldiers varies. The Russians are actively using sabotage and reconnaissance groups, but the Ukrainian military has enough technical means to detect these groups.

"We know that they use special forces as sabotage and reconnaissance groups. We are providing resistance. Now the ’greenery’ (vegetation) is appearing, and there are certain terrain features. This region has always been favorable for the use of sabotage and reconnaissance groups. However, we have enough technical means for detection. There are anti-sabotage reserves. But the threat of the use of sabotage and reconnaissance groups exists," he explained.

According to the Siversk OTG, Russian military uses a full range of weaponry. In particular, aviation: FPV, UAV drops, GABs. 34 were recorded in the Sumy region during the past day, April 5.
