The occupiers in Mariupol plan to confiscate "ownerless" apartments
In the occupied Mariupol, the situation with apartments whose owners are located in Ukraine or Europe is becoming increasingly tense.
In a video published on TikTok, local residents discuss that apartments in restored buildings ready for occupancy may be declared "ownerless" if the owners do not show up to collect the keys.
According to information obtained from local residents, the Russian occupation authorities have set a deadline for the appearance of the owners — April 1. Otherwise, the apartments will be considered "having signs of ownerlessness," which may eventually lead to their confiscation.
The authorities appointed by Russia have stated that "ownerless" housing will be seized.
Local residents also reported that several families trying to return to the city could not enter Mariupol due to screening at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport. It is expected that in the event of confiscation of housing in the occupied territories, it will be redistributed among Russian citizens.
