The "Servant of the People" criticized US President Donald Trump for his statement that the strike on Sumy, carried out by Russian troops, was a "mistake".

Such a statement by Trump provoked a sharp reaction in Ukraine.

As reported by the head of the international affairs committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksandr Merezhko, in an interview with The Times, Trump’s statement is "absurd" and effectively encourages the spreading of Russian propaganda. He stated that the FBI should investigate who in the White House is spreading such narratives.

"It’s like saying that 9/11 was just an ’Al-Qaeda mistake’," emphasized Merezhko, adding that such statements by Trump encourage Putin to continue his crimes.

According to the deputy, such statements also signal that someone in Trump’s circle might be promoting Russian narratives.
