Yuriy Halushkin will remain in custody until June 20.

Halushkin’s lawyer, Dmytro Kruhovyi, stated that on April 17, the general underwent surgery to remove metal structures that were installed due to a collarbone fracture, and since then he has been in an intensive care unit.

“The first hearing was supposed to take place on Friday. Doctors provided a written response, as far as I know from the investigator, that he cannot participate either via videoconference or personally appear in court,” he noted.

According to the lawyer, the hearing began on April 21 and lasted until 2 AM on April 22, and after a break, it resumed in the morning.

The prosecutor stated that Halushkin is in the 12th hospital, they cannot bring him, and he does not want to connect online. The lawyer refuted the prosecution’s claim and explained that the general does not have the means to communicate. According to the judge’s decision, the court clerk went to the hospital to connect the general to the hearing online.

Kruhovyi noted that by the judge’s decision, Halushkin was connected via video link to the court session on April 21, but he "barely spoke and did not understand what was happening."

"Then Halushkin lost consciousness, but the judge did not stop the session. It lasted almost until 2 AM. The judge announced a recess until 9 AM today and ordered Halushkin to be brought to the courtroom. As of this morning, he has not been brought. The session was held in a closed format,” the lawyer said.
