This was reported by the Odesa regional police on May 1.
According to preliminary information, the police officer drove into a 7-year-old girl as she was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing. The child sustained minor abrasions. She was examined by medics and sent home.
The driver was tested for alcohol in her blood. The test showed that the woman was sober behind the wheel.
Administrative materials have been drafted against the police officer under two articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine: Article 124 – violation of traffic rules resulting in damage to a vehicle, and Part 1 of Article 126 – driving a vehicle without compulsory civil liability insurance.
