MP Sukhov stated that in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the leadership of the TRC is covering for the business of relatives

In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the leadership of the TRC is covering up for relatives’ businesses by threatening Ukrtransbezpeka inspectors with mobilization, stated MP Oleksandr Sukhov.

According to the deputy, inspectors of the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety reached out to him regarding the critical corruption of their leadership.

Officials from the SSTS claim that their leaders force them to take bribes from drivers who violate passenger or cargo transport regulations. A fixed bribe amount is set for each inspector, which must be handed "upstairs" monthly. Conversely, some companies have a "green corridor" — they are prohibited from being stopped and checked.

As stated in the internal SSTS officials’ chat, the company "Frankivska Trade Company" of Nazariy Dzera — a relative of the local TRC chief is off-limits; inspectors are threatened with the removal of their booking.

Those who disagree with such a situation in the government agency are harshly punished, using the same TRC.

Defending the Fatherland should be a sacred duty, not a punitive measure. In Frankivsk (and I believe not only here), the TRC has turned into a punitive brigade against those who oppose corruption, writes Sukhov on his Facebook page.

In response to the stated facts, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba promised to investigate the situation and restore order. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence did not comment on the possible illegal actions of the TRC leadership in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
