Suspect in the mistreatment of soldiers from the 211th Brigade is hiding in Moldova
Vladyslav Pastukh, suspected of mistreating the military personnel of the 211th Pontoon Bridge Brigade of the Armed Forces Support Forces of Ukraine, is hiding in Moldova. At the end of 2024, Ukraine sent a request for his extradition.
This was revealed from the response of the State Bureau of Investigation to a request from "Ukrainian Pravda".
"On December 28, 2024, the suspect V.V. Pastukh was declared wanted nationally and internationally. On December 30, 2024, a request for the extradition of V.V. Pastukh from the Republic of Moldova was sent. On January 2, 2025, a decision was made to suspend the proceedings on the basis of paragraph 2 of the first part of Article 280 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine (the suspect was declared wanted)."
Response from the SBI to the UP’s request
On December 26, 2024, SBI investigators notified Pastukh of suspicion of abuse of power or official authority by a military official under martial law (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
On December 28, the State Bureau of Investigation amended the previously notified suspicion and announced a new one—torture (Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and unlawful imprisonment or kidnapping (Part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
