The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China condemned Ukraine’s statement regarding the Victory Parade in Moscow: "Complete blasphemy"
The Chinese authorities reacted sharply to the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, in which the participation of foreign military personnel in the Victory Parade on May 9 in Moscow was called support for the "occupiers." Beijing considers such words a "complete blasphemy" and a distortion of historical truth.
A representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China emphasized that the participation of Chinese military in the parade is a "manifestation of respect for history, the memory of martyrs, and a firm defense of the victory in World War II." According to him, the friendship between China and Russia, as allied countries in wartime, is a valuable asset for both nations.
"Ukraine also fought in the ranks of the Soviet army and shed blood. But now it interprets participation in the event as support for aggression. Does Ukraine not understand who the aggressor is at all?" the diplomat stated.
He added that such statements from Kyiv are a violation of the outcomes of World War II and a "challenge to international justice and fairness."
On May 6, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on foreign states not to participate in the parade in Moscow, stating that Russian military personnel are not liberators, but "war criminals," and those marching alongside them "share responsibility for the blood of murdered Ukrainians."
