A large-scale special operation against drug trafficking: The National Police is liquidating drug centers in 15 regions of Ukraine

The police uncovered a group whose members were producing and supplying psychotropic substances to all regions of Ukraine. In a month, they sold 700 kilograms of drugs and earned over 300 million hryvnias.

This became known from a report by the National Police. 

As of 17:30 on May 13, police officers from the Department for Combating Drug Crime and investigators of the National Police, in close collaboration with the UBN GUNP in the regions of Chernihiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Odesa, Lviv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Volyn, Mykolaiv, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv regions, and the city of Kyiv, investigators of the National Police in cooperation with the Prosecutor General’s Office and the SSU, with the support of police special forces, detained 66 individuals led by the organizer.

“The suspects created an extensive network of drug laboratories and warehouses where they manufactured, packaged, and stored prohibited substances. Every month, the accomplices produced over 700 kg of drugs, which were supplied to ’consumers’ from various regions of Ukraine. On the ’black’ market, this volume is valued at over 300 million hryvnias,” the report states.

As a result of investigative actions, 17 drug laboratories and 15 warehouses with psychotropic products were eliminated.

118 kg of mephedrone, 160 liters of mephedrone reaction mixtures (80 kg of mephedrone), 156 kg of alpha-PVP, over 30 kg of amphetamine, 12 tons of precursors were seized.

66 individuals have been detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigative actions are ongoing.
