In the war against Ukraine, an experienced Russian sniper was neutralized

One of Russia’s leading snipers, who had numerous state awards from the aggressor country, was eliminated in the war against Ukraine.

This was reported by journalist Yuriy Butusov, citing Russian "war correspondents" on Sunday, May 18.

"On May 11, in the ’SVO’ zone, senior warrant officer Vitaliy Shapovalov, an intelligence scout-sniper of the Russian army special forces, known as ’Ded’, was killed. He was 51 years old," the propagandists wrote.

Russian Telegram channels add that the 51-year-old Shapovalov participated in military campaigns in Chechnya (five six-month deployments) and also spent two years in Syria. After the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he fought on the side of the RF Armed Forces.
