Zelenskyy announced new sanctions: three packages have already been approved, more are on the way
After the imposition of sanctions against several Ukrainians and foreigners, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced other decisions regarding restrictions. New sanction packages are being approved to synchronize with the sanction regimes of the European Union and other key global jurisdictions.
This is reported by Channel 24 with reference to Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy commented on the introduction of new sanctions
By May 25, the Ukrainian authorities had adopted three packages of sanctions. Among those economically restricted in Ukraine are citizens of Russia, propagandists (among them – Ukrainian citizens), and individuals who assist Vladimir Putin.
Thus, the first package of sanctions was imposed against Russians involved in financing hostile terrorist activities, financial manipulations, and sanction circumvention schemes in the interest of the aggressor country. This specifically concerns Dmitriy Punin, Ivan Bannikov, and Aleksandr Matyashov.
The second package was adopted against propagandists who operate in the interest of the enemy and facilitate Russian strikes on Ukraine.
Against representatives of Russian mafia groups that significantly helped establish the Putin regime and are still connected to it, Ukraine approved the third package of sanctions.
Currently, new Ukrainian sanction decisions are being prepared. The direction of the sanctions is entirely clear – these are physical and legal entities from Russia and those associated with it, working for the war, as well as those supporting the Russian regime. New decisions from the National Security and Defence Council – soon, – announced the President of Ukraine.
It should be reminded that this time, not only people but also legal entities that in some way cooperate with Russia have come under sanctions.
