A judge who attempted to fraudulently seize funds from a farming enterprise will be prosecuted

Prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General have sent to court an indictment against a district court judge in the Kirovohrad region, who attempted to fraudulently seize the funds of a farming enterprise.

The investigation established that the accused decided to seize the funds of a farming enterprise, whose lawsuit was under consideration by the court. He informed the representative of this enterprise of the alleged need to transfer an unlawful benefit to the judge of the district administrative court for making a favorable decision.

In reality, the administrative court judge was not aware of the accused’s criminal intent and made a decision in favor of the plaintiff within the framework of the current legislation. Despite this, the accused convinced the representative of the farming enterprise to transfer him 2,000 USD.

Law enforcement officers detained the judge, and he has been charged with an attempted fraudulent acquisition of someone else’s property (part 2 of article 15 and part 1 of article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
