Zelenskyy called the strike on Russian military airfields historic

Ukraine does not want to fight and demonstrate its strength, but it does because Russia does not plan to stop. 

President Zelenskyy stated this to journalists during a conversation on ZOOM, commenting, in particular, on the successful operation to destroy Russia’s strategic military aviation.

The head of state noted that Ukraine had prepared a series of operations and has already demonstrated its capabilities, which indicate that the entire narrative spread by Russians in Europe, and everywhere else, claiming they are safe and are winning this war, does not hold up. 

"They are not safe. I’m talking about military targets. Yesterday there were 40 targets - military targets, carriers that hit us or threaten strikes. And they have taken many Ukrainian lives. Today, I saw the mood among the ’Nine’ plus other countries – everyone believes Ukraine has once again demonstrated that not everything depends on the number of people that Russia does not spare and kills, their own people, their own citizens," Zelenskyy said.

The President emphasized that Ukraine previously conducted another "strong operation," but it was not as noticed as "Spider Web."

"These are operations of different levels. This one (at the military airfields) is historical. And before that, there was an operation - simultaneously 400 drones hit military equipment and there were over 40 types of different equipment: artillery, air defence systems, armored vehicles, tanks were destroyed in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. This is another operation. Also drone-based, but of a different nature and level," Zelenskyy noted.

He stressed that these operations are targeted at military objectives on Russian territory and in temporarily occupied areas from where strikes on Ukraine originate.

In this way, as Zelenskyy said, Ukraine is stating that "we do not intend to surrender and will not accept any ultimatums, but we do not want to fight." 

"We do not want to demonstrate our strength, but we do because the enemy does not want to stop. And we demonstrate it justly, against military targets. We also demonstrate it not only to the Russian aggressors but to all our allies who were strong allies but started to doubt. Trust in Ukrainians and faith in Ukraine have returned. I believe the result of the operation is very good," the president commented.

He noted that Ukraine proves that it is not about the number of troops, but about will, values, technology, and support from partners, whose unity is very important. 

"Yesterday Ukraine conducted an operation independently. But we have constantly emphasized that we have several operations, although we lack equipment, we are requesting internal financing," Zelenskyy added.
