On the premises of an aeroclub in the city of Leszno (Poland) near the border with Ukraine, anti-aircraft complexes in containers were discovered that were left without protection. Initially, a private company planned to sell this equipment to Ukraine, but for unknown reasons, it did not happen.

According to RMF FM, the containers were found by employees of the Central Bureau of Investigation Police, acting on the instructions of the District Prosecutor’s Office. An investigation into the circumstances began in Poland in May this year.

It concerns the improper handling of weapons and ammunition by one of the private companies.

According to media reports, this company was supposed to transport the anti-aircraft weapons to Ukraine. For reasons still unknown, this did not happen, and the equipment remained in a hangar near the state border.

The RMF FM correspondent has information that the hangar was guarded for some time, but later the military equipment was left unattended.

It is known that the anti-aircraft weapons are owned by a private company that has a license to trade in weapons. This was confirmed by the spokesman of the minister-coordinator of Polish special services, Jacek Dobrzyński.

He noted that "anti-aircraft weapons, some kind of launchers" were found in the warehouse, and they were intended for the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

"The warehouse was not guarded, which is scandalous. This type of weapon should be stored properly and be under supervision," emphasized Dobrzyński.

Later, the prosecutor’s office issued a statement confirming the initiation of an investigation on May 27, 2025, under Article 263 § 3 of the Polish Criminal Code (transfer or provision of weapons/ammunition to an unauthorized person).

"Measures are being taken to establish the source [of military equipment] and the recipient. On-site activities are being conducted with the participation of experts from the Military Institute of Armament Technology," the statement said.
