"The mother-in-law as the bride": The border guards uncovered a sham marriage for traveling abroad

At the state border of Ukraine, border guards uncovered an unusual attempt to illegally cross the border: a 29-year-old man tried to cross the border by presenting documents of marriage with his 47-year-old mother-in-law.

As reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS), the "genius" and his "companion" were detained while attempting to cross the border. It is likely that such a marriage was concluded to provide grounds for the man of conscription age to leave the country during martial law.

Details of the incident are currently being investigated.
