Zelenskyy announced new painful measures against Russia’s ability to wage war: "A signal to all partners"

Sanctions from the world against the aggressor country Russia must be one of the key priorities. This is exactly what actually prevents Russia from strategically developing its potential. Every day, Russia’s ability to continue this war, the war against Ukraine’s independence, should be more tangibly limited.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this in his traditional address. He emphasized that this is a signal to all partners and announced new painful measures against Russia’s ability to wage war. Read more

"Our institutions have started implementing the decisions of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine regarding the synchronization of European and Ukrainian sanctions. The 13th and 14th EU sanction packages are fully synchronized - now they are 100% also Ukraine’s sanctions. Today I confirmed this," the president stated.

Additionally, he mentioned, it is necessary to 100% synchronize European sanctions against the regime in Iran.

"There are many figures, many companies, and this concerns not only military production and external terror schemes against neighbors in the region but also internal repressions in Iran. This is one of the most brutal regimes in the world - it’s no surprise that Putin found common ground with it. We will continue all this work on synchronization, and I expect quick actions from all our institutions in the country," Zelenskyy noted.

He also informed that new, joint decisions with partners regarding Ukraine’s defense and resilience are being prepared for next week.

"Thank you to everyone who helps us. Thank you to everyone who cares for Ukraine as they would for themselves," the president concluded his address.
