Raider schemes in the Kirovohrad region: the court rejected the arrest of the agricultural firm’s property, declarations seized
The NACP removed the annual declarations of the head of the Kirovohrad Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Yan Strelyuk, from public access at his request back in November 2023.
Currently, the official’s declarations are not publicly accessible. A similar decision was made only regarding the heads of the prosecutor’s offices in Kropyvnytskyi and Kherson. The law allows for the removal of declarations if a person is engaged in operational and search, counterintelligence, or intelligence activities. Their publication will be resumed 90 days after the end of martial law or dismissal from office.
Yan Strelyuk is suspected of being involved in a raider scheme against the agricultural company "Perspektyva" in the Kirovohrad region. The prosecutor’s office and police, with court support, are attempting to seize land plots and the harvest of the enterprise, which has been lawfully cultivating the land for over 13 years. Businessman Serhiy Tarasov, founder of the agroholding I&U Group, is involved in several criminal cases and has been on the state wanted list since the beginning of 2024.
According to the defence, the cases against the agricultural company are based on dubious accusations, and the prosecutor’s office has not provided sufficient evidence of illegal activity by the enterprise. In particular, recognizing the harvest as "material evidence" without a civil lawsuit or suspicion contradicts the criminal procedure code. Deputy head of the prosecutor’s office Isa Tanryverdiyev is accused of creating a "legal basis" for the raider seizure of property.
Judge Yevheniy Zavhorodniy on June 24-25 rejected the request to arrest the assets of the agricultural company, supporting the defence’s position and demonstrating independence from pressure by law enforcement.
