Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained an employee of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in the Kyiv region while receiving part of an unlawful benefit.

According to preliminary data, the official received 50,000 hryvnias monthly for "non-interference" in business activities.

This is reported by sources referencing investigative materials. According to their information, it concerns the chief state inspector — the so-called "cashier" — Oleksandr Kolesnyk. It is known that he systematically received bribes from entrepreneurs, promising not to create problems in the area of cash register discipline.

Sources also point to a possible scheme of a larger scale: allegedly, monthly collections from cashiers and excise officials in the region may be transferred to higher management of the tax service, particularly to the acting deputy head of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in the Kyiv region, Andriy Dobryanskyi. According to unconfirmed information, he was aiming for an official appointment to the position in the near future.

Currently, law enforcement officers are conducting investigative actions and clarifying the details of the case. Official comments from the SSU or the State Tax Service are currently absent.
