RF attacked the Kharkiv region with a "Shahed" drone carrying munitions that exploded for nearly a day
In the Kharkiv region on July 4, Russian invaders used a Shahed attack drone with fragmentation munitions that detonated for over 6 hours. Some of them exploded even 20 hours after the attack.
This was reported by the Interregional Center for Humanitarian Demining and Rapid Response on Facebook.
"The task of neutralizing the munitions was complicated by the fact that they start exploding on their own one after another 2-6 hours after being dropped. The last fragmentation munition exploded 20 hours later. During the operation, to detect the fragmentation munitions, the sappers conducted reconnaissance using UAVs. Additionally, during the reconnaissance, the sappers found an unexploded second warhead," they noted at the center.

The second warhead was destroyed by a controlled detonation. Experts emphasize that such explosive objects can detonate at any moment, posing a potential deadly threat.
It is worth recalling that on the night of July 5, the Russian army launched a massive airstrike using more than 320 Shahed-type drones and other types of UAVs. The primary target of the attack was the Khmelnytskyi region, particularly Starokostiantyniv. According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, air defence, including aviation, missile systems, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups, shot down 292 enemy drones. Of these, 157 were destroyed by firepower, and another 135 were disabled by electronic warfare systems.
