Zelenskyy has imposed sanctions against companies from China

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to apply personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against five companies registered in China.

As explained by the Commissioner for Sanctions Vladyslav Vlasyuk, during the massive shelling of Kyiv on the night of July 4, components of Chinese origin were found in the downed "Shahed" drones. The sanctions were imposed on the companies supplying these components.

Specifically, Ningbo BLIN Machinery Co., Ltd and Suzhou ECOD Precision Manufacturing were sanctioned for supplying products to sanctioned Russian enterprises in 2024 and 2025, he said.

Connection between China and Moscow

Despite active trade relations between China and Russia, Beijing has repeatedly stated that it does not supply weapons to any party in the conflict.

However, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, evidence has frequently emerged that China is helping Moscow circumvent Western sanctions. In particular, in September 2024, Western media reported evidence of covert arms supplies from Chinese companies to Russia.
