The Council ratified the agreement with the Council of Europe on the establishment of a tribunal against the Russian Federation

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the Agreement between Ukraine and the Council of Europe on the establishment of a special tribunal for the prosecution of the leadership of Russia for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

This was announced by People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

This step is part of international efforts to hold the top leadership of the Russian Federation accountable for launching a full-scale war against Ukraine.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that the tribunal would start working by the end of this year.
