Herman Smetanin has been appointed as the Acting Director General of "Ukroboronprom"

Herman Smetanin, a former minister for strategic industries of Ukraine, has been appointed as the acting CEO of Ukroboronprom.

This was announced in a statement published on the official website of the concern.

"Due to the change in the position of the General Director of the Joint Stock Company ’Ukrainian Defence Industry’ Oleh Hulyak to another role in the state defence sector, the Company’s supervisory board decided to appoint Herman Smetanin as the acting CEO of JSC ’UOP’," the concern specified.

They also noted that Smetanin is a professional with extensive experience in the defence industry, "management skills, and a strategic vision for the development of the sector."

The search and selection of candidates for the new leadership position will be conducted by the Ukrainian office of the international recruiting company Odgers Berndtson. The competition is scheduled to begin on July 28.
