The Armed Forces of Ukraine are attempting to reclaim lost positions in Kamyanske - Voloshyn

This was stated on television by the spokesman of the Southern Defence Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.

"This settlement is indeed geographically located about 25-27 km from the outskirts of Zaporizhzhya. And today, the enemy is present in Kamyanske. However, the Defence Forces are also present in this settlement. Our positions remain in the city, maintaining them on the northern and northeastern outskirts," Voloshyn emphasized.

According to him, Ukrainian troops are currently trying to reclaim positions lost in Kamianske.

"Restoration actions by the Ukrainian Defence Forces are ongoing in the settlement. We are trying to reclaim the positions we lost, and hopefully, we will push the enemy out. The Defence Forces are making strong efforts to reclaim these positions. Moreover, the enemy did not fully capture Kamyanske; they merely destroyed positions within the settlement. This is why we had to retreat to the outskirts. Now, we are trying to restore the situation at the front," the spokesman stated.

According to him, the settlement was divided into two parts.

"Kamyanske was split in half by a river. On one bank was territory captured by the enemy, and on the other bank were our positions. But the enemy, striking with aviation and artillery, destroyed these positions. We had to retreat to the outskirts. Now we want to return to the river," Voloshyn added.
